Detour's Yoga Bar Debuts On Shelves

Nutrition bar company Forward Foods announced the addition of the Detour Yoga Bar to its line of activity-based protein bars. The new Yoga Bar includes lemon balm to help alleviate stress and promote a sense of calm while supporting strong, flexible muscle development with 11 grams of high-quality protein. Available in two fresh fruit flavors -- Blueberry Acai and Peach Mango -- the new Detour Yoga Bar joins the line of Detour Runner, Detour Biker and Detour Core Strength Bars.

Designed to simplify the confusing energy bar category, the Detour Activity Bars are the first on the market tailor-made for the special needs of athletes participating in yoga, running, cycling, or core strength activities.

Thirty-two million adults in the United States practice yoga or related activities like Pilates. At the same time, research shows that consumers are often confused when it comes to choosing energy bars for these activities. A report from market research group Mintel states that 50 percent of consumers are not sure what to believe regarding the health claims that energy bars make.

"Many felt their specific needs for stress alleviation and relaxation were underserved in today's protein bar category.
