Excessive sweating can interfere with the quality of your life and take a toll on your self-esteem. It can make you self-conscious about shaking hands, hugging loved ones, and raising your arm around others.
Perspiring too much can also lead people to make harsh judgments about your hygiene. You can reduce some of the embarrassment associated with perspiration by learning to reduce excessive sweating.
1/ Dress Appropriate for the Weather: To reduce excessive sweating in the summertime, wear light colored cotton clothing to reflect sunlight away from your body. Clothing should be loose fitting to allow air to circulate around your body and keep you cool.
During the winter months dress in layers so that you can shed extra clothes to adapt to the changing temperatures in your environment.
2/ Modify Your Diet: Avoid eating spicy foods, hot soups, and foods with excessive amounts of salt-especially when you're out in public. Also, avoid hot beverages such as tea, coffee, and cocoa, as they raise your body temperature and cause you to sweat.
3/ Use Baby Powder or Corn Starch: Sprinkling on a little baby powder or corn starch can help absorb and reduce the amount of sweat your body produces.
4/ Use Antiperspirants: Antiperspirants contain aluminum chloride, which reduces excessive sweating by blocking the sweat ducts. The antiperspirants can be used on areas that produce large amounts of sweat such as your hands and underarms.
While these methods are only temporary, they can help you reduce excessive sweating, and minimize some of the embarrassment too much perspiring can cause.
