Excessive sweating can be social suicide. Sweat may seem trivial, to those that do it normally. However, for an excessive sweater, it affects everything from relationships to jobs.
Sweat combines with the natural bacteria on the skins surface, and produces an odor. Odor is not conducive to personal or professional relationships.
Many people suffer through this condition because they do not want to take oral prescription drugs, or undergo the risk of surgery. However, there are several natural treatments to reduce sweating, and/or eliminate the problems associated with sweating.
Natural powder, like corn starch or baking soda, can help to soak up sweat. They also help to control odor.
Careful diet choices can reduce sweat and odor. For example- garlic, onion, and curry can all be smelled in sweat. Natural food choices are better than processed foods. Toxins are eliminated from the body through- sweat, bowel movements, and urine.
If the GI and urinary tract are not functioning optimally, more toxins are released through sweat. Eat plenty of fruits and fibers to aid the elimination process.
Drink at least eight- 8 oz glasses of water a day.
Use a natural antiperspirant. Deodorant does not stop sweating; it simply curbs odor. Whereas, antiperspirants control wetness.
A cup of sage tea (consumed daily) can help reduce sweat gland activity.
Stress often triggers sweating; try relaxation techniques, like Yoga.
Bath daily in cool water and exfoliate dead skin.
Rub the skin with alcohol after bathing.
Keep hair off of the neckline, and keep other body hair shaved or trimmed.
Drop excessive weight.
Excessive sweating does not have to stop normal activity. These simple ideas are natural and healthy ways to decrease sweating, and eliminate the odors from sweat. Of course, for optimal results, all of them should be done together.
